K. Julia Stamm is a queer woman living with a mental illness, and she has a four year honors degree in Criminology. She spent two years Downtown Eastside Vancouver living in an “off-site SRO”, and three years panhandling on the Fort-Yates-Douglas block of downtown Victoria, British Columbia. She is a lifelong writer and avid reader.
